The UK Formula Vee Championship will kick back into action on the 17th April 2021. With a reduced 2020 calendar, we now have a full calendar for the 2021 season.
Formula Vee is as popular as ever, the formula has seen fantastic growth over the years and this year is no exception with full grids expected at all events.
Formula Vee last visited the iconic Cadwell Park circuit (dubbed as the “mini Nordschleife”) back in 2017 for the 50th anniversary. James Harridge was crowned the winner of the spectacular three heat event.
Following on from James Harridge’s 2020 championship win, can he start off his title defence with a victory?
The 2020 750MC Heritage Parts Formula Vee Championship has finally got underway.
Welcome to the grid to all newcomers. It has been a long wait since Oulton Park but the first event has not disappointed.
Two amazing drives from regular driver James Harridge saw him take two victories. James managed by the end of lap one in Race 2 to move up to 6th position from starting in 17th. A noteworthy mention must be given to Ian Buxton who made him work for these race victories. Daniel Hands has changed cars for this season and in his New AHS Dominator looked extremely quick but the results sadly didn’t come his way. Peter Studer earned a great 3rd position in Race 2 and looks to be one to watch this season. Further back down the grid there were impressive drives from the drivers and especially the battle for 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th positions in Race 1.
With James winning the Class B races as well, there were highly praiseworthy performances from two newish drivers to the formula. Elliot Mason finishing 3rd & 2nd with performances he should be proud of and a drive by Richard Walsh in Race 2 giving him a fantastic 3rd place.

A revised schedule sees the 200 configuration of Norfolk’s Snetterton Circuit host the opening round.
2017 Championship Winning Formula Vee for sale.
This is the ex Jake Oliveira Storm. Championship winner in 2017, numerous pole positions, wins and fastest laps.
Only 2 outings in 2018 which yielded 3 pole positions, win and 3rd place all using year old tyres – still the car to beat.
A lot of research and attention to detail has gone into developing this car:
For the 2016 season I completely stripped and rebuilt the car around a new chassis. Numerous developments including FF1600 roll bar, improved cooling and lightened components. Distributor, switches, ignitions leads all replaced.
For 2017 the engine was upgraded by GAC to their latest works spec, undoubtedly one of the best engines on the grid. Dyno sheets are available.
For 2018 I replaced all bodywork and stripped/ rebuilt the front beam, replaced brake shoes and replaced the lightweight lithium battery.
This car is ready to win the 2019 championship in the right hands.
Price includes some spare bodywork and suspension components.
Happy to help the buyer get started with running the car or develop it further – there is still untapped potential.
Price is £10k for the car, spare bodywork, suspension arms etc an additional £500.
A covered trailer also available for £1950

The 2017 Formula Vee festival is at Brands Hatch on 28/29th October. Again earlier this year so let’s make sure we fill the place with Vees and finish off the 50th Anniversary in style and with a lot of fun. More details will follow soon on the exact format but be assured this will be the usual excellent value with practice and up to 3 races: it is only £260! We’ve had some superb racing this year with smiles a plenty at the last meeting so here’s one last chance for track action, and with our luck this season it will be scorchio!
*Cars must conform fully with their current national regs including tyres! The usual prizes will be up for grabs. Get your entries in early as places are limited and you don’t want to miss this last fun and great value outing before the winter. Entry form below (click on it).

Read more →We are very pleased to announce that we have an additional sponsorship deal with VW HERITAGE this year to help fund our 2017 50th Anniversary activities. Basically VW Heritage will pay for all PR we generate for them. This needs the support of all drivers and teams but it is relatively simple to do. The money will come back to drivers and teams to support all of this year’s activities and events. The more PR we provide the more we earn.
As with other sponsorship deals all cars must carry the sponsors logo (2 stickers per car which will be available at next signing on).
VW Heritage will make a contribution for each of the following:
1). Photos in any print publication (magazine or paper)
2). Website link to VW Heritage homepage
3). Social media tag (#vwheritage added to any Vee related social media post)
4). Race Reports (submitted to VWH after each meeting).
James Cater has kindly volunteered to coordinate a monthly activity return so we can submit an invoice. Please let James know when you put up a website link, when you have got photos published in the press and when you tag anything. When you post your race photo’s, videos, comments, rants, raves, etc, please tag them. James will separately let people know the best way to contact him.
Finally, don’t forget that all 750mc members benefit from a trade discount deal with VW Heritage giving 20 to 30% off. Members should phone or email orders to George Hudson (GHudson@vwheritage.com / 01273 444 000) mentioning that you are a 750mc member (have your membership available the first time you order so they can set your account up).
