A quick intro for you… I used to race in Formula Vee back in 2010 with AHS number 56 when I was a teenager, now I’ve grown up some what I’ve crossed the waters to Australia.
I haven’t raced in 4 years now and it still saddens me now! ha
I have recently starting work on my business start up and project which is a wrist watch brand called ‘Marchand’ – named after my late Swiss grandmother. Her uncle was a Swiss watch maker for Benrus in the 1920s, therefore with all this heritage that I have including my more recent motorsport involvement I’ve decided to start this watch brand and the first model is set to be motorsport inspired.
I tried to attach a couple photos for your interest; the logo, the brand name and first initial 2d designs, colour schemes are to be changed and the design of the watch is to be evolved more so yet but this gives you the general feel to what I’m working on. The watch will be a beautiful blend of modern racer, vintage racer with a ‘dress code’ appears to it. The watches I plan to retail for $400-450AUD so around the £200-250 mark. Can someone please tell me if it’s possible to attach photos on this forum? 🙂
So to get down to it guys, i’m interested in knowing what it would entail to sponsor the Formula Vee championship (I assume one of a couple sponsors from memory)… Any idea on the budget required and also generally speaking what you offer in return to your sponsors. I’m thinking somewhere along the lines of prize watches for the top three in Championship and the Class B winner (Ian Jordan that one’s for you pal ;)) In return I can promote the championship via various platforms also along with ties in the motorsport scene over in Australia! I would ask in return for brand stickers to be on each drivers car, a large banner for the event and that’s about it for now! 🙂
It’s important to get the views and support from the drivers as I learnt with my time in Vees, so please all, honest opinions.
I race with Bears Motorsport in Jake Oliveira’s old storm car. The watch sounds like a great idea, I’m not sure about attaching photos on here. To sponsor the championship you need to talk to the 750mc. We can all run stickers on the car, no issue with that. It depends on what you want to get out of it really, if you want more exposure for your company we could do several things. But it’s down to the club unfortunately, you just need to talk to Giles or someone else at the club. If you wanted to sponsor the Vee centre itself, then there is other things which could be done. Pete Belsey was the chairman this year, and Paul Taylor and Tim Probert on the committee. One of them can help you in this case.
