Hi I am very interested in the Formula Vee racing.
I currently race in a non MSA 125 Rotax Max kart at Hooton Park. Unfortunately I am having problems with an old injury with my ribs, this is due to the grip levels on sticky slicks and aggressive cornering on the sprint kart tracks. Am I right in thinking the because of the control treaded tyre, and suspension that the forces placed on the driver would not be as high as a kart?
I plan on visiting Croft this weekend, can I ask what would be the better day to visit when some of you may be able to spare a few minuets of your time with some info and advice.
Hope you enjoy Croft. Personally speaking I find driving a go-kart more physical than racing a Vee, but that’s not to say you won’t feel it after a race. If you have a rib injury then the tight seatbelt may cause you some discomfort, but most cars have plenty of space for you to get comfortable, especially if you are 6ft tall or less.
Thanks for the info, I had a great day yesterday the people I spoke were very helpful. A test day sounds like the way forward, this will give me a feeling for the car and also test my ribs!! AHS offer test days, is there any other other companies you would recommend to talk to regarding a test day?
