Membership Benefits

The Vee Centre is a social club for Formula Vee drivers, their mechanics, friends and families with the goal of encouraging participation in Vee related activities and promotion of Formula Vee both within the 750MC and to the outside world.

Every year we have two main events that provide a lot of joy to those who partake in the festivities: Membership_Benefits_Collage

The Vee Centre ethos is to keep single seater racing cheap and enjoyable whilst providing close competitive racing on track.

Please note, all registered drivers have their Vee Centre membership kindly paid by the 750mc, and are thus automatically a member. Anyone else is very welcome as a social member and can join by submitting the form below.

We recognise the need to help drivers (regardless of skill level or car specification) to attain goals that will help push themselves up the grid. Hence we provide a set of awards that are both innovative and fun irrespective of your finish position:

VEE CENTRE AWARDS

Challenge

The aim of the Challenge is to provide Formula Vee drivers who are unlikely to finish high up in the main 750 Motor Club Formula Vee Championship an attainable goal outside of the top 10 front runners. Points are awarded for each race (both Heat and Final – although only one race per round counts) and using the official results as published by the 750MC.

The Vee Centre will award the top driver from the Challenge with a trophy that will have their name engraved upon it and will be returnable at the end of the next year’s season. The top three will also get trophies to keep.

Masters Challenge

The aim of the Masters Challenge is to encourage the “older” (over 45) drivers within Formula Vee to keep driving and racing hard. Unlike the Challenge all placings count towards Masters points (both Heat and Final – although only one race per round counts) and using the official results as published by the 750MC.

The Vee Centre will award the top driver from the Masters Challenge with a trophy that will have their name engraved upon it and will be returnable at the end of the next year’s season. The top three will also get trophies to keep.

Highest Grid Mover

The aim of the award is to recognise the superb overtaking efforts of drivers during each round.

A point is given to for each place gained from the starting grid to the drivers final finish position. Heat races count, although if a driver competes in both Heat and Final.

The Vee Centre will award the Highest Grid Mover with a trophy for each round and additionally the top Grid Mover for the year will also be given a trophy with their name engraved upon it and will be returnable at the end of the next year’s season.

Driver of the Day

The aim is to reward the best driving effort form each round. Nominations for each round will be decided by the Vee Centre Committee and passed on a majority vote.

The Vee Centre will award each Driver of the Day with a trophy for each round.

International Trophy

This is awarded to the highest placed UK driver competing in an international Formula Vee Championship.

The Vee Centre will award the International Driver of the Year with a trophy that will have their name engraved upon it and will be returnable at the end of the next year’s season.

Best Independent

The aim is to reward the best performance by a Vee Centre member who is self-run throughout the season. This doesn’t mean that they build their own engine and chassis, but bring their car to the race track themselves and do the majority of the work in preparing/running the car themselves (in the true spirit of Formula Vee).

The Vee Centre will award the Best Independent with a trophy that will have their name engraved upon it and will be returnable at the end of the next year’s season.

Sporting Driver

The aim is to reward the most all round sporting driver (in either driving or around the paddock) and the award is in recognition of promoting good sportsmanship in our Formula. Nominations will be via a ballot of the Vee Centre members.

The Vee Centre will award the Sporting Driver of the Year with a trophy that will have their name engraved upon it and will be returnable at the end of the next year’s season.

Mechanics Cup

This trophy aims to reward and provides recognition to the unsung heroes of the paddock/pit lane.

The mechanic’s cup is for the “unpaid” mechanic / team support people whose work is mainly carried out behind the scenes – a person whom without which racing would be more challenging. Nominations will be via a ballot at the end of season party.

The Vee Centre will award the mechanic with a trophy that will have their name engraved upon it and will be returnable at the end of the next year’s season.

Member of the Year

Again this is an award that is decided by ballot for the person whom members think that a certain person has contributed something special. The only rule is that the same individual cannot win 2 years running.

The Vee Centre will award the Member of the Year with a trophy that be returnable at the end of the next year’s season in recognition of their contribution.
