Well done to Paul Smith for a great double at Donington to get the season under way.
It’s nice to have Ravenol on board as championship title sponsor and a big Vee thanks goes to them. At each meeting a £100 Ravenol voucher will go to the driver with the most over-takes (difference between qually position and finish) over the weekend. At Donington two people, Ian Buxton and James Harridge, tied with 17 places made overall and in such circumstances the award will go to the person with the highest place finish in either race which in this case is James. Well done James. At future rounds the Ravenol vouchers will be awarded on the day.
The Vee Centre will be awarding the usual trophies and cash prizes this year. There are a number of awards competed for by drivers throughout the grid. For newcomers to the formula you can see details of the various competitions here. All registered drivers are now automatically enrolled in the Vee Centre and eligible for the awards thanks to the support of the club. In additional to our usual awards new for 2016 will be the teams competition with a generous cash prize kindly donated by Mike Oldknow. The magnificent Willetts trophy will also go to the winning team this year. The standings after round one are:
