Vee Centre UK Awards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vee Centre Challenge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

The aim of the Challenge is to provide the drivers who are unlikely to finish higher up in the main 750MC Formula Vee Championship an attainable goal outside of the top 10 front runners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Points are awarded for each race (both Heat & Final when applicable \u2013 however only one race per round counts) and using the official results as published by the 750MC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vee Centre will award the top driver the Challenge Trophy that will be engraved and returned at the end of the next season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masters Challenge<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

The aim of the Masters Challenge is to encourage the \u201colder\u201d Formula Vee drivers to keep driving and racing hard. The age criteria is 45 and over as of the 1st<\/sup> January of the competition racing calendar year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All placings count towards Masters points (both Heat & Final when applicable \u2013 however only one race per round counts) and using the official results as published by the 750MC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vee Centre will award the top driver the Masters Challenge Trophy that will be engraved and returned at the end of the next season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Highest Grid Mover<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

The aim of the award is to recognise the efforts in moving up the grid from qualifying, whether this is down to superb overtaking efforts or the overall consistency of the racer enabling them to stay on track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A point is given for each place gained from the starting grid to the drivers final finishing position. When applicable, all heats and final races count.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vee Centre will award the top driver the Highest Grid Mover Trophy that will be engraved and returned at the end of the next season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Driver of the Year<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

The aim is to reward the most all round driver (in either driving or around the paddock) and the award is in recognition of promoting good driving and sportsmanship in our Formula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The potential candidates for the award are discussed and chosen by the Vee Centre Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vee Centre will award the Driver of the Year Trophy that will be engraved and returned at the end of the next season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

1st Lap Movers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

This recognises the gains made by a driver on the first lap. Points are generated for each place made and accumulated over the year. Each divers single highest grid move score is elminiated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vee Centre will awarded the recently re-acquired Jump Start Trophy to the winner that will be returned at the end of the next season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Half Crank Award<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

The Half Crank Award is given in recognition of a drivers commitment to, promotion of Formula Vee, or for a memorable moment during the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The potential candidates for the award are discussed and chosen by the Vee Centre Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vee Centre will award the Half Crank Award that will be returned at the end of the next season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Best Independent<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

The aim is to reward the best performance by a Centre member who is self-run throughout the season. This does not mean that they build their own engine and chassis, but bring their car to the race track themselves and do the majority of the work in preparing\/running the car themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All members will be contacted by the Centre to ensure all drivers entered into the Championship that are eligible for the award are accounted for. The award is given to the highest positioned Centre member at the end of the season using the official 750MC Formula Vee Championship table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vee Centre will award the top driver the Best Independent Trophy that will be engraved and returned at the end of the next season.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Driver of the Weekend<\/strong> (TBC)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

The aim is to award the best driving effort from each round. This could be for an outstanding qualifying, total domination in the race, achieving above expectations, going above and beyond in the paddock etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All nominations are welcome and the Vee Centre Team will decide on a majority vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awarded after each Race Weekend<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
\n

Willetts Trophy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

The trophy is dedicated in memory of Derek \u2018del\u2019 Willetts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trophy was generously donated by regular drivers Mike Oldknow & Paul Taylor in 2014. The Trophy has been won for various events over the years but became a new annual award in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trophy will be awarded to the driver finishing highest in the 750MC Championship who has not previously achieved a top three (podium) finish in any previous seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vee Centre Awards Night is typically held at the end of the year and includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Drivers Annual Meeting<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Three course evening dinner<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Awards presentation<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The Vee Centre raffle<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Evening entertainment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
